Denso Iridium Spark Plug
DENSO Technology – Leading the World
The DENSO Iridium spark plug electrode has 0.4mm diameter – the thinnest in the world, achieving superb ignition performance. This means lower fuel consumption and higher acceleration performance as well as stable combustion during idling – contributing to cleaner exhaust.
Benefits and Features
1. Low fuel consumption, excellent acceleration performance and stable combustion during idling.
The world’s thinnest center electrode of 0.4mm diameter reduces the heat conducted from the flame core in the initial stage of the ignition to the center electrode – achieving ideal ignition.
2. Long life and high reliability
DENSO adopted an Iridium – rhodium alloy with a high melting point, significantly inhibiting deterioration of the electrodes by sparks and oxidation.
The Iridium alloy center electrodes are laser-welded to the nickel electrode base metal. This laser-welded part has a linear expansion coefficient that is between that of the Iridium alloy and that of the nickel – significantly reducing thermal stress in the center electrode.
